High coercivity mag stripes store information more securely than low coercivity magnetic stripe cards because of the higher level of magnetic energy required to encode them. This also makes information on hico mag stripe cards harder to erase and more resistant to damage from magnets or magnetic fields. Magnetic stripe cards are designed for use in card printers with encoding capabilities.
Magicard HoloPatch cards are white with a gold security HoloPatch in one corner. They are standard CR80 size PVC cards. CR80 is the standard, most commonly used plastic card size, measuring 3.375'' x 2.125'' and 30 mil thick, the same dimensions and thickness as a standard credit card. HoloPatch cards are designed for use in Magicard printers with the HoloKote anti-counterfeiting system. HoloPatch is a highly reflective gold 'super-diffuser' patch which makes HoloKote security images clearly visible under all lighting conditions. When HoloPatch cards are used along with the HoloKote feature of Magicard printers, cards have an appearance similar to holographic patches, but at a fraction of the cost.
